Ovens are wonderful, incredibly useful appliances โ but it isnโt until we donโt have an oven that we appreciate all of its functions. Have you ever been camping out in the great outdoors, sitting around a crackling fire, and became struck with a sudden craving for warm home-baked cookies? Trust me, you're not alone.
Thatโs where electric skillet oatmeal cookies come in.
In case you couldnโt guess, all you need is an electric skillet - and butter, flour, egg, and other ingredients necessary to make the cookies come alive. The fantastic perk of this recipe is how simple it is.
Crispy, fresh oatmeal cookies baked in less than 15 minutes without an oven? Sign me up! (Another fun oatmeal recipe I think you'd love are these breakfast oatmeal shots.)
This is a great option for cookies if you are camping or just donโt have an oven around for whatever reason!
With this recipeโs simplicity, you have no excuses. Most of these ingredients are affordable and probably already in your pantry โ vitamin-rich oatmeal, brown and white sugar, butter and baking powder.
The best thing about electric skillet cookies (other than the part where you dig in) is that you arenโt in the dark about how your little creations are doing. You can see and control how the cookies turn out, flipping before they burn, making sure they bake evenly. This combination results in a firm and crispy, yet soft-on-the-inside cookie.
Even if you arenโt camping, these cookies are perfect for a lazy day when even ordering takeout is too much effort (and money). College students staying in dorms that lack an oven may find these electric skillet oatmeal cookies a lifesaver.
Enjoy with a warm cup of milk, freshly brewed coffee, or hot cocoa, and share with your camp buddies, roommates, family โ or not.
Will you give these electric skillet cookies a try on your camping trip?

Not on camping but, i tired this at my home and it turned as accepted for me. I don't like much sugar so I adjusted it accordingly. It was good first time experience.
