Plum crumble is one of my absolute favorite old family recipes that I return to time and time again! It’s the ideal comfort food; delicious on its own with warm, moist plums topped with a nutty, buttery crumble…
Place the plums cut in halves in a bowl and chop them (we just want to create an uneven and moisturized texture). Put the pieces in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add ¼ cup water, 2 tbsp. brown sugar and cinnamon and cook until soft (about 5 minutes).
For the crumble, put flour in a large bowl, add melted butter and run with finger tips till the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add sugar, nuts, cinnamon and mix.
Put the plum mixture in a baking dish. Sprinkle the crumble mixture over it and bake for 25-30 minutes (or until golden brown).
