What better way to celebrate on Christmas morning than with this alcoholic Christmas morning punch? Bubbly ginger ale and sparkling wine pair with peach, orange, and mint flavors in this festive holiday drink.
Remove 1 cup of peach slices from the can/jar. Reserve 1 cup of the peach syrup.
Place the peaches spaced apart on a wax paper lined baking sheet. Transfer to the freezer until the peaches are solid.
Add the frozen peach slices, peach syrup and orange juice to a pitcher or punch bowl.
Slowly pour the ginger ale in and then the sparkling wine. Give it a gentle mix.
Add the orange slices and fresh mint leaves. Serve immediately!
Notes
You can easily scale up this recipe depending on the size of your gathering.
The frozen peaches act as ice cubes without watering down the punch. They can be frozen well ahead of time (up to 6 months). If you choose to freeze them ahead, you can freeze them on the baking sheet first and then transfer them to a freezer bag and back into the freezer, so that they don't stick together.
You will need to ensure that your sparkling wine and ginger ale are chilled. This can all be prepped the night before or within an hour of serving.
The prepared punch can be refrigerated for up to 3 to 5 days. Keep in mind that it will lose much of its carbonation by then.
Once the fizzy has been poured into the punch bowl, it will start to lose its carbonation after 2 to 3 hours.
It is best to pour the carbonated liquids into the punch right before serving it to your guests so that it lasts for at least a couple of hours while serving.
