Add the hot water to a large measuring glass or glass bowl. Add the green tea bags and let them steep for 5 minutes. Discard the tea bags.
Mix in the sweetener until dissolved. Chill in the refrigerator while preparing the peaches.
Purée the peaches in a blender or food processor. Strain the peach purée through a fine mesh strainer to make it smoother. You should end up with at least 1 cup of strained peach purée.
Pour the peach purée and green tea into a pitcher and stir.
Refrigerate until chilled, at least 1 hour. Serve in glasses over ice and garnish with peach slices and mint leaves.
Notes
How to store leftover iced tea: You can store your fresh peach iced tea in the fridge for up to 3 days. Simply serve over ice when ready.
Use Juicy Peaches: Choose peaches that are ripe and juicy!
Choose High-Quality Tea: Select high-quality green tea bags for the best flavor. Varieties like Sencha, Gyokuro, or Dragon Well work well.
Water Temperature: After you've boiled the water, let it cool a bit to around 160-180°F (70-80°C). Boiling water can make green tea bitter.
Steep Time: Don't go over 5 minutes. Over-steeping can also result in a bitter taste.
Use Peachy Ice Cubes. If you have any leftover peach purée, pour it into an ice cube tray and freeze it. Use the peach cubes when serving the drink so that it doesn't get watered down with watery ice cubes.
