Electric Skillet Steak
Why not quickly and easily cook up your
steak in an electric skillet
? I have a recipe for cooking two steaks, served with a savory herb butter.

2
strip steaks of your choice
@ approximately 4 ounces each
2
tablespoons
butter
softened
1
teaspoon
Italian herbs
salt & pepper
to taste

Instructions
Season the steaks with salt and pepper.
In a small bowl combine the butter with the herbs and mix until well combined. Refrigerate.
Preheat skillet over high heat, 400ºF. When the skillet light goes off (meaning it has reached the right temp.), place the steaks in the skillet.
Cook on one side until browned. Once it browns, it will loosen from the pan.
Flip over and brown the other side (approximately 1-2 minutes per side).
Reduce heat to medium-low (
for electric skillet, 250°F-275°F
) and cook with cover on for approximately 5 mins., or to desired doneness using a
meat thermometer
.
Serve the steaks with the herb butter.
Notes
Here are some
steak-cooking temperatures
that you might find handy:
Rare: 120°-125°F (49°-51°C)
Medium-rare: 130°-135°F (55°-57°C)
Medium: 140°-145°F (60°-63°C)
Medium well: 150°-155°F (65°-69°C)
Well done: 160°-175°F (71°C)
Cooked steaks can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 to 4 days.
