Notes
Room Temp Storage: Store muffins at room temperature, in an airtight container, to keep them moist for up to 4 days. Add a paper towel at the bottom of the container to absorb excess moisture. Typically you don't need to refrigerate muffins unless they contain meat or cheese.
Freezing Instructions: Muffins freeze well and this helps keep them fresh-tasting! Wrap them individually in plastic wrap and store them in a zip-lock bag. You can thaw them at room temperature or use my favorite way: heat them in the microwave, slice them open and add a pat of butter.
Room Temperature Ingredients: Make sure the eggs, butter, and milk are at room temperature before mixing. This helps create a smoother batter and more even baking.
Don’t Overmix the Batter: Mix wet and dry ingredients until they are just combined. Overmixing can result in dense orange chocolate chip muffins muffins. Some lumps are okay!
Preheat the Oven: Always preheat your oven to ensure the muffins bake evenly. A hot oven also helps muffins rise properly.
