Kale has become a very popular food item in the health and fitness realm within recent years. So when you're out grocery shopping, don't forget to throw in that perfect head of kale into your shopping cart and be sure you have sea salt and some olive oil on hand.
The Nutrition Behind Kale Chips
If you’re not convinced about adding kale chips to your diet yet, you'll be pleased to know you can greatly benefit from their nutritious value. For example, kale has a lot of antioxidants such as carotenoids, which can reduce your risk of cataracts, atherosclerosis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. In addition, kale can provide you with plenty of vitamin K and a number of B vitamins.
Ingredients & Tools
You only need a few ingredients and a couple of tools to make these kale chips.
- 1 kale head
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Sea salt
- Baking sheet
- Large bowl
Step #1. Cut the Kale into Pieces
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Remove the kale leaves from the stems and then cut into pieces. Place them in a large bowl. (Keep in mind they will shrink quite a bit in the oven so keep the pieces fairly large.)

Sprinkle the kale pieces with sea salt.
Step #4. Transfer to Baking Sheet
Spread the kale out onto a baking sheet.
