A unique way to enjoy the pumpkin spice frenzy this season is a glass of Fall Pumpkin Party Punch. It contains REAL pumpkin, not just a flavored syrup (although I love that too), spiced rum, orange liqueur and more!

This Fall Party Punch is a Sip of Autumn Magic

    • Quick and Easy: It takes only 5 minutes to whip up a batch, so next time you're having a fall gathering such as a dinner party, Halloween festivity or Thanksgiving meal, keep this recipe in mind, your guests will be intrigued.
    • Unique and Festive: Pumpkin-flavored drinks are not as common as other flavors, making this punch a unique party beverage. It adds a festive touch to any fall celebration.
    • Alcoholic or Non: This spiked punch is not as strong as, say, a pumpkin vodka martini but you can adjust the alcohol levels or omit them for a non-alcoholic option.
    • Great for Batch-Making: This pumpkin punch is perfect for large gatherings as it comes together in a blender and can be easily made in large batches.
    • Visually Appealing: Its warm, golden-orange color adds a beautiful, autumnal touch to your drink table and complements fall-themed decor, especially if you place the bowl next to these mini apple pies.
    • Make Ahead: You can make it a day in advance since it doesn't contain any carbonation, so there's no need to worry about it going flat.

    Ingredients

Fall pumpkin party punch ingredients labeled on wooden background.
    • pumpkin purée - Canned or freshly puréed from your fall harvest will work.
    • sweetener - Use honey or agave nectar for best results. Agave combines better into the drink without sticking to the edges of the blender. Amber or dark maple syrup would also be a nice option.
    • pumpkin pie spice - Pumpkin pie spice includes a mixture of spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and allspice and you can find premixed blends at the grocery store or make your own pumpkin pie spice mix.
    • spiced rum - I like to use Captain Morgan but you can use your favorite.
    • orange liqueur - Meaghers, Grand Marnier, Cointreau etc. are all perfect.

    Recipe Tweaks

    • Pulp: Not everyone likes pulp in their cocktail. If you prefer it without the pulp, you have two options:
      • Strain: Pour the blended beverage through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to make it more clear.
      • Leave it out: Or, omit the pumpkin purée, sweetener and pumpkin pie spices and use this pumpkin spice simple syrup to add sweet pumpkin flavor.
    • Sweetness: You could omit the sweetener completely since the orange and pineapple juices hold plenty of sweetness. Go by taste.

How to Make Fall Pumpkin Party Punch

It's super easy to make this fall alcoholic punch:

Fall pumpkin punch in a blender.

Step #1. Combine. Combine all ingredients, except for the garnishes, in a blender.

Fall pumpkin party punch in a fall-themed glass bottle.

Step #2. Transfer. Transfer the punch to a punch bowl, pitcher or keep it in the blender.

Fall Pumpkin Party Punch in a clear glass with ice and orange slice garnish.

Step #3. Serve. Serve the fall party punch in glasses with ice. Use cherries and orange slices to garnish the glasses.

    Joss' Tips

    • Hosting a crowd? Make a big batch for parties: Although this recipe serves 4, you are welcome to double or triple the batch and let your guests experience this fun fall beverage out of a punch bowl.
    • Stir before serving: The pumpkin does tend to settle over time, so it is best served on the day of preparation, but is completely drink-worthy the next day as well. It's nothing a little stir can't fix.
    • Offer a non-alcoholic version: Leave out the alcohol and replace it with some sparkling apple cider right before serving. If you're serving both versions, pop on some cute, festive labels so mistakes don't happen.

    Recipe FAQs

How long does pumpkin punch last in the fridge?

This fall punch is best served immediately but can be stored in the fridge for no longer than a few days.

How do you serve pumpkin party punch without a punch bowl?

You can use a pitcher or even a blender to hold the beverage. Some more creative options include: a hollowed out pumpkin, beverage dispenser, mason jars or large glass jars, vintage jugs, wine decanters or a large bowl.

Should you put ice cubes in the punch?

To keep the punch from becoming diluted, it's best to add ice cubes to individual glasses rather than the punch bowl. Or, try freezing some orange or apple juice in an ice cube tray and use those to chill the punch instead.

Can I use canned pumpkin pie filling instead of purée?

Yes, you can give that a try! However, I would hold off on adding any extra sweeteners until you've taste tested it first because canned pumpkin pie filling is already sweetened.

How much of the pumpkin simple syrup would I need to add as a substitute for the puree and pumpkin spice?

Thanks for the question, Vin. I recommend you sweeten it to taste with the pumpkin syrup. You can start with a small amount, 2 teaspoons or so and then add more if needed.
