    ❤️Why You Will Love it

Outside of a whole pint of strawberry ice cream or a dip in the pool, few things are better on a scorching summer day than a strawberry slushy margarita.

    • It's amazingly simple and delicious.
    • This cool and refreshing slushy drink is sure to be a favorite of everyone this summer when the weather is hot. It's kind of like my frozen watermelon cocktail but with strawberries.
    • You only need a few ingredients and a blender to whip it up.
    • It uses real strawberries and fresh limes so no more fake taste from the commercial syrups.

    🍓Ingredients

Slushy margarita ingredients prepped and labeled.
    • strawberries - Try to find strawberries that are ripe and sweet.
    • tequila - This is the key ingredient in a margarita.
    • triple sec - Triple sec is orange-flavored liqueur so you could also use a Grand Marnier or another brand of orange liqueur if needed.
    • limes - You will need real limes to rim the glass with as well as to add some of the fresh juice to the drink.
    • sugar - White granulated sugar is needed to rim the glass with. To elevate your margarita even more, try out my flavored sugar rims. For the drink itself, you can use agave nectar instead of sugar.
    • ice - Ice is needed to get the drink nice and slushy.
    • peppermint leaves - Optional garnish.

*Check recipe card for ingredient amounts.

Chef's Note: You can replace the alcohol with water or orange juice to make a mocktail version for the kids.

Chef's Tip: If you don't have a margarita glass, a martini glass or even a wine glass work great.

Step #3. Add ingredients to blender. Add the strawberries, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, sugar and ice cubes into a blender.

Step #5. Serve. Pour the mixture into the glass. Garnish with fresh peppermint leaves, if desired. Serve and enjoy!

Now you know everything there is to know about making a delicious strawberry slushy margarita. That's just the tip of the iceberg (or slushberg, perhaps), though.

This recipe can easily be adapted to account for all of your favorite fruits. Flavored syrups would also make a great complement to the drink.

    ❓Recipe FAQs

What is a frozen slushy margarita made of?

A frozen margarita contains the classic margarita ingredients, including tequila, sugar, lime and triple sec, combined with ice to make it slushy. Strawberries can also be added.

What is the difference between a margarita and a frozen margarita?

The difference is in the ice. While a margarita is served over ice cubes, a frozen, slushy margarita is made by blending the ice into the drink.

How do you make a slushy margarita not watery?

One trick I like to use is to replace half of the ice cubes with frozen strawberries so that there is less water melting into the drink as you're enjoying it.
